TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS QUITE
SIMILAR TO THOSE OF THE 125 LINE
Many of the technical
solutions adopted for the 125 chassis range proved optimal also for
the 100 range.
In terms of design, the line of the 100
chassis will bear many similarities to the 125 line, since the large
majority of technical solutions developed proved effective for both
categories. For this reason, the 100 line, too, will be marked by 4
chassis, among them a model of the “R” series and another of the “M”
series, produced with the new axle bearing housings and, therefore,
with a variable wheelbase. The other two models (R31 –SC and M31
–SC), instead, were developed exclusively from the former versions
used in the past season.

The versions RX 32 –SC and MX 32 –SC
are built of 32-mm tubes (with the only exception of the central
cross-bar, made of a 30-mm tube) and are marked, as already pointed
out, by the option of lengthening the wheelbase from 1040 mm up to
1054 mm. From the technical point of view, lengthening the wheelbase
with respect to the standard axle position is more practical on fast
tracks with wide bends. In addition, the body of model RX 32-SC was
substantially modified in relation to both chassis cross-bars (front
and rear), which used to be straight and are now curved. Compared to
the 2005 version, the advantages concern both the behaviour of the
forecarriage and that of the rear carriage.

Some of the 2006
novelties: the C of the spindle, the spindle itself, and the axle
flange. o.
The
forecarriage achieved a more affective balance, while the changes on
the back cross-bar ensured greater effectiveness during braking and
on the drive. The body of model MX 32 –SC, instead, was modified on
the front, which was made narrower to improve entering into bends.
This model also displays a new central cross-bar, whose tubes now
measure 30mm. All the models were also provided with the new spindle
C’s, reinforced to guarantee greater stability of the forecarriage,
and new spindles, as well. A further innovation concerning the whole
range refers to the steering column, which is going to offer more
possibilities of adjustment in the 2006 version. All the 2006 models
of the 100 range are identified by the abbreviation “SC” and
equipped with all the top line accessories of the Freeline
assortment. The current production provides two stabiliser bars
(front and side) to integrate possible set-up adjustments, while a
third optional stabiliser bar is available, with the exception of
model R31 –SC, which has to be positioned in the rear carriage. The
100 range is also currently produced with Cik 03 fairings and the
PVC sticker kit of the superb Motorsport livery.
The bodies
of the 100 “Racing” range are made of high-quality tubes following a
production process marked by the highest professional standards.
Each chassis undergoes painstaking quality controls both in relation
to its structure and look. The various design proposals were
developed to offer customers specific products based on individual
needs such as driving features, circuits, tyres and engines used.

WINNING EVOLUTIONS
The 2125 line is marked by the technical
evolutions developed by the Racing Division, which already proved
successful during the most prestigious events of the racing season.
2006 is the
first year for the new homologations, which will be valid for six
years based on the regulations in force. In view of this important
appointment, Birel’s Racing Division did not spare any effort so as
to develop the most effective solutions. The results obtained in the
competitions of the classes with gear box leave no doubt as to the
effectiveness of the work done: Birel chassis won the World Cup, the
European title as well as the American Stars title, just to mention
the most important victories.

The range of the chassis,
therefore, is the result of an accurate development that brought
about 2 separate lines (“R” and “M”), both including 2 models: CRX
32 –SC and CR 31-SC for the R series, and CMX 32 – SC and CM 31 –SC
for the M range. The models marked with an X both consists of 32-mm
tubes (with the exception of the central cross-bar made of 30-mm
tubes) and offer the option, provided for by the latest regulations,
of varying the wheelbase. Actually, thanks to the new housings of
the axle bearings, the wheelbase can be quickly changed from 1040 mm
up to 1054 mm, with a great advantage on fast circuits with wide
bends. In addition, model CRX 32-SC also features a completely new
design of the central part of the body, with semicircular cross-bars
converging towards the inside near the seat.

The flanges of
the axle enabling to lengthen the wheelbase of the chassis marked
with an “X”, the new “C” of the spindle and the new steering column.
These technical solutions ensure a
better overall balance of the chassis. For the entire racing line,
the spindle C’s where modified, too, and strengthened by a
reinforcement on the inside. The steering wheel is also provided
with new spindles and steering column, offering a further
possibility to adjust the forecarriage. The models CR 31 –SC and CM
31 -SC , both made of 30 and 32-mm tubes, instead, are the result of
an evolution of the 2005 versions and represent a guarantee in terms
of reliability and performance. In particular, the CM 31 –SC version
underwent further development in the course of the entire racing
season, and although it is being proposed as already homologated in
the past session, in commercial terms, this is actually going to be
its very first year on the market. As far as outfits are concerned,
the whole range of 125 chassis is equipped with Freeline HQ
accessories, among them the braking system highlight, an invariably
winning feature of Birel chassis. The fairings mounted are Cik 03
completed by a kit of Birel Motorsport Pvc stickers.

Novelties
As already mentioned, from the technical point of view, the most
significant innovations regard model CRX 32 –SC, which compared to
the CR version of the past homologation, features a new design of
the central cross-bar of the chassis (placed at a level with the
tank), as well as of the rear cross-bar. The front cross-bar was
built with a slightly curved design and a 30-mm tube, whereas that
of the former version measured 32 mm. This solution ensures a better
overall balance between forecarriage and rear carriage. The
advantages provided by the modification of the cross-bar, on the
other hand, include increased drive, improved braking stability and
“grip”, still leaving the chassis “flexible”. Although less
manifest, the modifications made on model CMX 32-SC are equally
crucial. The tubes of the forecarriage holding the floor panel were
reduced in diameter, as was the central cross-bar of the chassis,
made of 30-mm instead of 32-mm tubes in this case, too. Both
solutions brought about tangible advantages to the forecarriage
ensuring very effective entering into bends.
The bodies of the 125 “Racing” range are made of high-quality tubes
following a production process marked by the highest professional
standards. Each chassis undergoes painstaking quality controls both
in relation to its structure and look. This property is Birel’s
“hallmark”, ensuring the excellence of every single kart
manufactured in Lissone. The various design proposals were developed
to offer customers specific products based on individual needs such
as driving features, circuits, tyres and engines used.
